DESCRIPTION:Fermionic quantum matter is ubiquitous in nature and has many t
echnological applications. After a general introduction into the physics o
f ultracold fermionic quantum gases\, the talk will highlight two striking
examples. Superfluidity in Fermi gases has been subject of intense resear
ch for more than a decade with many spectacular observations. Recent work
has provided unique access to quasiparticles in the Landau-Fermi liquid re
gime\, whose fast dynamics can now be observed on the Fermi time scale.\nV
