Cristóbal Pérez receives Humboldt Research Fellowship
The junior scientist will use the fellowship to work on the project “observing chirality with microwaves” for two years in Hamburg
Cristóbal Pérez studied chemistry at the Universidad de Valladolid in Spain, where he also received his doctorate. From 2011 to 2014 he spent a postdoctoral stay at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, USA. Since November 2014 he holds a postdoc position in Melanie Schnell‘s research group Structure and Dynamics of Cold and Controlled Molecules at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter. With his Humboldt Fellowship, he will continue his work on precision spectroscopy for discriminating enantiomers in complex mixtures of chiral molecules for a further two years.
With the Humboldt Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation supports scientists with above average qualifications at the beginning of their academic careers. The fellowship allows them to carry out long-term research projects in Germany. Applicants choose their own topic of research and their academic host.
