Superconductivity of different types in nanostructures and materials: applications in quantum technologies, engineering, and detection

Superconducting devices provide wide variety of possible applications, e.g. in metrology, sensing, and quantum information. In this talk, I will present a three-terminal Andreev molecule in various regimes, which can be regulated at a macroscopic level and thus can be used for molecular simulation, quantum manipulation, and qubits. In case of a well-fabricated device with good contacts the Andreev molecule has a spectrum with a robust fine energy splitting due to mesoscopic fluctuations. Then I will discuss my recent proposal on how to engineer unconventional superconductivity via acoustic waves. This approach can be an alternative to well-known nanowire-superconductor structures for search of Majorana modes, but has many more other possible applications. Finally, I will present our recent results on the detection of an odd-frequency superconductivity via pulse probes.
