In 2012, he got a postdoc position in Sebastian Loth's group, where he will focus on the spin related single-atom and single-molecule experiments.
Shichao Yan received his Ph.D. degree in 2012 from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2008, he was a visiting research scholar in Prof. Wilson Ho's group at University of California, Irvine. During his Ph.D. work, he built one ultrafast laser coupled scanning tunneling microscope. Using this instrument, he investigated the diffusional and rotational behaviors of single molecules.
