María del Mar Quesada Moreno receives Max Planck Prince of Asturias Mobility Grant

The junior scientist from the Universidad de Jaén in Spain will spend a research stay of eight weeks at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter

María del Mar Quesada Moreno, doctoral student at the Universidad de Jaén, Spain, was elected to receive one of the prestigious Max Planck Prince of Asturias Mobility Grants that the Max Planck Society announced in 2014. She joins Melanie Schnell’s Structure and Dynamics of Cold and Controlled Molecules group for an 8-week research stay. During her time in Hamburg, María del Mar will work on enantiomer differentiation using broadband rotational spectroscopy.

On October 25, 2013, the Max Planck Society received the Prince of Asturias Award in recognition of its international cooperation. The Max Planck Society doubled the 50,000 euros prize money from its own funds and established a grant program to fund research residencies for outstanding doctoral students and postdocs from Spain at a Max Planck Institute of their choice.
