Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter
Group News
03.2022: When we moved to MPSD, Hamburg, we did not imagine that just one month later we would all be in lockdown mode and two whole years would go by until some semblance of normality would come back to our group's dynamics. These past two years were fruitful and a lot happened, but with the social distancing it was hard to be very social. Our twitter feed (renamed to reflect the new group's home https://twitter.com/mpsd_sabia) was kept active and up to date. News from our group are best seen there! We hope for a lot more social presence in the next years.
01.01.2020: The group moved as an independent Lise Meitner Group to the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter and Dr. Alan Lewis joined as the first member in the new location.
The year of 2019: A new PhD student joined (Alaa Akkoush), and two members left to follow their next steps (Dr. Haiyuan Wang and Dr. Nathaniel Raimbault). The joint efforts of the group made this our most productive year so far in terms of (top!) publications. We hope to continue on this path.
02.08.2018: Karen joined the group last month and everyone is busy with a summer full of conferences to attend and co-organize.
21.12.2017: More papers in and a new section focused on publications. Have a merry end of 2017, everyone.
30.08.2017: First paper from research entirely developed after the start of our group is submitted. May it be the first of many!
xx.06.2017: Svenja Janke got the Otto Hahn Medal for her Ph.D. thesis and Haiyuan Wang got the prize for best Ph.D. thesis from Warwick University. Well done!!
